Lluís Masriera - 19th Century
Art Nouveau and Art Deco Jewelry Barcelona, Spain

Lluís Masriera, the son of artists and jewelers, was a contemporary of Lalique, Gaudi and Tiffany, and is recognized as the driving force behind the introduction of Art Nouveau and Art Deco jewelry in Spain in the 19th century. Among his innovations was the technique known as "Barcelona Enamel," a method of creating translucent enamel that possesses luminosity and remarkable definition.

Fortunately, almost all of Lluís' original molds and drawings were saved. Today, Bagués-Masriera continues Lluís Masriera's traditions and legacy through the faithful execution of his designs in the 21st century. Each piece is made from the actual molds, making every piece an original, not a reproduction.
