Gurhan, a Turkish born designer and goldsmith, works exclusively in 24K gold (and, beginning in the spring of 2006, in platinum). Gurhan designs each piece in his line and his personally trained studio artists in New York and Istanbul faithfully recreate his designs.

24 karat gold was the material used by ancient goldsmiths, but had been supplanted in modern jewelry making by various dilutions--18-karat and 14-karat being the most commonly used mixtures. Gurhan has successfully reintroduced the ancient traditions of working in pure gold. The result are pieces with incredible luster, color, and beauty.
